'How to Get Away with Murder' season 3 spoilers: Annalise and a tougher Wes' relationship to be explored

(Facebook/HowToGetAwayWithMurder)"How to Get Away with Murder" will premiere on Sept. 22 on ABC.

"How to Get Away with Murder" is only less than a month away, which means fans can start looking forward to potential character developments coming in the third season. One such development will involve Wes Gibbins, played by Alfred Enoch.

When the series first started, viewers were introduced to a quiet and compassionate version of Wes. But after all of the things he went through in the past season, Wes evolved and slowly became stronger. Fans can expect more of the same happening to Enoch's character, especially after everything he's suffered through.

"One year ago, I would have said Wes would have fallen apart and down a spiral, but I think he's been through so much hell now, he's much tougher," executive producer Peter Nowalk told Variety

Additionally, Annalise's relationship with Wes will also be delved into in the upcoming season. Nowalk revealed that he is looking forward to exploring the two characters' bond, especially after the events of the previous season.

"They've been on such opposite sides because she's been aggressively protecting him, but also hiding a secret from him, but now that everything is out on the table, he has to decide whether to trust her. He's alone so I think there's a version where they grow much closer and they work together so that's what is really appealing to me right now," explained Nowalk.

Apart from Wes, it was previously reported that Annalise will also be spending time with other students not in the Keating Five. Viola Davis, who plays Annalise Keating, revealed that a lot of questions will be answered in the new season, but a big mystery will also be introduced.

As of now, there is no word yet on what that mystery is or who will be particularly involved, but it is safe to say that everyone is excited, including the cast members.

"How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 will premiere on Sept. 22 on ABC.
