iPad Air 3 rumors: Upcoming Apple device to arrive this March?

(Apple)Shown in the photo is the iPad Air 2. Rumor has it that the iPad Air 3 will arrive this March.

While it was rumored in the past that Apple would finally ditch its iPad Air series, the latest reports claim that the iPad Air 3 may be one of the three iPad devices coming out this March.

According to the latest reports (unconfirmed, at that), Apple will be releasing three new iPads two months from now. Reportedly, one of the iPad variants that the brand will release is a 9.7-inch iPad with an A9 processor, and it is suspected to be the iPad Air 3.

According to reports, the alleged 9.7-inch iPad that Apple will launch will be a low-cost model and will use the processor chip currently being used by the iPad Pro. While this latest development contradicts the earlier reports claiming that Apple is already killing its iPad Air series, PC Advisor opines that it's a sensible move for Apple, much more if the rumored device will, indeed, be sold at a cheaper price.

To recall, there were earlier rumors saying that Apple would kill its iPad Air series and just concentrate on its iPad Pro line. Reports suggested back then that, with the discontinuation of the iPad Air series, Apple would also discontinue its iPad Mini line and release an iPad Pro Mini instead of the iPad Mini 5.

However, if the recent reports are to be believed, it seems that Apple will still release an iPad Air 3, along with a completely new iPad Pro with a size of 10.5 inches and a follow-up to its 12.9 variant. Both iPad Pro variants are alleged to pack the new A10X chip as their processor.

On the other hand, it is also said that Apple may make the iPad Air 3 even thinner, as if the current 6.1-mm thickness of the iPad Air 2 were not thin enough. After all, it is rumored that Apple will pack the alleged iPad Air 3 in an even stronger type of aluminum, hence, it shouldn't be surprising if the iPad Air 3 is a few millimeters thinner than the current version of the device.
