iPhone 6s Plus vs Huawei Mate S: Device from Apple is faster than the Mate S

The iPhone 6s Plus is no longer the only option available for those who want a premium metal bodied smartphone and increasingly devices likes the Huawei Mate S have become popular. Here is how these two phablets compare.

Design

When it comes to design, it is clear that the iPhone 6s Plus has good features including rounded edges, a tougher metal body made from 7000 series aluminum alloy, which consequently makes it less likely to bend. It has a fingerprint scanner in its home button and comes with 3D Touch technology in its display, which can sense the amount of pressure being applied on the screen. As for colors, there are four options gray, gold, silver, and rose gold. Comparatively, the Huawei Mate 3 is a slightly slimmer device, and it too has a stylish metal body with rounded edges. However its fingerprint sensor is placed at the rear. The costliest edition of the Huawei Mate S also has similar force touch technology like that of its rival. Finally in terms of colors, there are three options gray, gold and champagne.

Display

These devices have a similar sized display size of 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and density of 401 pixels per inch. However, the type of display differs with the iPhone 6s Plus having an IPS LCD version and the Huawei Mate S coming with an AMOLED screen.

Specs

There is a HiSilicon Kirin 935 chipset on the Huawei Mate S and it is coupled with an octa-core CPU with four cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and four clocked at 1.5 GHz along with a Mali-T628 MP4 GPU. As for the iPhone 6s Plus it has Apple's latest chipset the A9 which is faster than that of its competitor and it is coupled with a dual core CPU clocked at 1.84 GHz along with a PowerVR GT7600 GPU.

Memory

With no memory slot on the iPhone 6s Plus, there is no hope of external storage being added. The Mate S can be used to add up to 128 GB. As for RAM, the device from Apple has 2 GB while its competitor has 3 GB.

Camera

There is a 12 megapixel version with OIS on the iPhone 6s Plus while the Mate S has a 13 megapixel camera also with OIS.

Price

The Huawei Mate S costs $650 when unlocked, while the iPhone 6s Plus costs $749 without a contract and $299 with a two year contract.
