Apple is predicting that the iPhone 6s will grab a huge chunk of the smartphone market as soon as it is released, but to succesfully do that, it has to go head to head first with a number of other devices, like the LG G4. Here is how the two devices compare.

Design

There isn't any doubt that the iPhone 6s is built to be a premium smartphone. It has a full metal body and curved edges that make it really easy to hold. It has an impressive Touch ID fingerprint scanner integrated into its home button and comes in four colors, space gray, gold, silver and rose gold. As for the LG G4, it is a bigger device, which comes with a plastic body because there is an ergonomic "SlimArc" curve running from top to bottom which, protects the device in case the user drops it. Its back panel has patterned polycarbonate in white, gray and gold but there are other back panels available made of leather, which have been dyed in various natural colors.

Display

In this category the bigger and sharper LG G4 has an advantage, as its 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch. The iPhone 6s has an IPS LCD screen measuring 4.7 inches with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels and a density of 326 pixels per inch. However, the Apple device has 3D Touch, which senses the amount of pressure the user is exerting on the screen.

Specs

The latest Apple A9 chipset is present in the iPhone 6s but other information regarding its hardware have yet to be released. As for the LG G4, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, coupled with a hexa-core CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44 GHz and two Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.82 GHz along with an Adreno 418 GPU.

Memory

As usual, there is no memory slot on the iPhone 6s while the version on the LG G4 allows for the addition of up to 128 GB of external storage. Coming to RAM, there is 3 GB on the LG G4 while its competitor could have 2 GB onboard.

Camera

There is a terrific 16-megapixel camera with OIS on the LG G4 while the iPhone 6s has a 12 megapixel camera without OIS, though it can be used to record 4K videos.

Price

The starting model of the iPhone 6s and the LG G4 cost $199 with a two year contract.
