While there is still no confirmation, the rumor claiming that the Microsoft Surface Phone will be unveiled this month is getting even louder. However, despite the unveiling, it is also said that the device will not make its way to the market this year.

According to reports, there is a possibility for Microsoft to launch some of its upcoming devices in the IFA event in Berlin, Germany, which kicked off on Sept. 2 until Sept. 7. However, even if the said smartphone will be launched, it is believed that it won't be available in the market earlier than March 2017.

It has been speculated that Microsoft will not release any of its hardware within the year as, allegedly, the company is still waiting for the arrival of the Intel Kaby Lake processor, which will be packed by some of its upcoming releases, such as the Surface Book 2, the Surface Pro 5, and the Surface Phone. As the Intel Kaby Lake processor is expected to arrive later this year, it perfectly makes sense why no Surface product will arrive in the market this year.

It is also said that the company is purposely delaying the release of the Windows 10 update code-named Redstone 2 as it wants its upcoming device releases to be the first to demonstrate it.

Meanwhile, apart from possibly getting launched in the IFA event, it is also reported that the Surface Phone may come in three variants based on its RAM and storage capacity. The first one is said to pack 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, while the midrange Surface Phone will offer 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of storage capacity. However, the premium Surface Phone is expected to wow gadget fans as it is said to boast of 8 GB RAM and 500 GB of internal storage.

Despite the varying RAM and storage capacities, though, all the three alleged variants of the Surface Phone are rumored to sport a 5.7-inch 2K AMOLED screen.

It is also believed that the upcoming Microsoft smartphone will fall in the good graces of people who love taking selfies as it will come with an 8-megapixel front-facing Carl Zeiss lens camera with triple LED flash, while its main camera will boast of 21-megapixel capacity.

As far as the pricing is concerned, it is believed that the Surface Phone will carry a price tag between $700 and $1,100.

However, with no official word from Microsoft at this point in time, all will remain a speculation and can only be confirmed if the Surface Phone will, indeed, be unveiled in the IFA 2016 event.
