Moto 360 2 vs. LG Watch Urbane: a close race between two of the best Android Wear devices

There are a number of stylish Android Wear devices available in the market and two of the best, which come with round bodies, are the Moto 360 2 and the LG Watch Urbane. Here is how the two smartwatches compare.

Design

The Moto 360 2 provides more customization options. It comes in two sizes, a 42 mm model, which either comes with a 16 mm band or a 20 mm band and a 46 mm model, which comes with a 22 mm band. All cases are round and are made of stainless steel. They come in gold, rose gold, silver and black. As for the band, there are several options to choose from, with some made of leather and some crafted from stainless steel. The device has an IP67 certification and can be immersed in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.

As for the LG Watch Urbane, it also has a round body but it only comes in one size. It is made from stainless steel and has two color options: gold and silver. As for its band, it is a standard 22 mm version, which is made of leather. However, users can switch them out with others available in the marketplace. It also has an IP67 rating, just like the Moto 360 2.

Both smartwatches run Android Wear and can be paired with Android and iOS devices.

Display

The Moto 360 2 has an LCD display with Corning Glass 3 protection. Its bigger model has a 40 mm display with a resolution of 360 x 330 pixels and  density of 233 pixels per inch. As for its smaller model, it has a 35 mm display with a resolution of 360 x 325 pixels and a density of 263 pixels per inch. The device from Motorola comes with what they call a "flat tire." It is a blank portion at the bottom of the screen, which houses the sensors. As for the LG Watch Urbane, it has a 1.3-inch P-OLED display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels.

Specs

The LG Watch Urbane and the Moto 360 2 each has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset clocked at 1.2 GHz along with 4 GB of internal storage and 512 MB of RAM.

Sensors

There is a 9 axis gyroscope, accelerometer, heart rate sensor, compass and barometer on the LG Watch Urbane. As for the Moto 360 2, it has a heart rate senor, accelerometer, haptics engine, gyroscope and ambient light sensor.

Price

The price of the Moto 360 2 starts at $299.99 and can go as high as $429.99, while the LG Watch Urbane costs $300.
