In the upcoming 2016 Gamescom Expo that is to be held in Cologne, Germany during the month of August, fans are anticipating the announcement of "Red Redemption 2." The parent company of Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, will be present during the event and fans are keeping their fingers crossed for the possible announcement for the game.

The game was first expected to be officially announced during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) back in June, and a lot of fans were disheartened that the game was a no-show during the event. The possibility of it being shown during the 2016 Gamescom is bleak since it is Take-Two interactive who will be taking the stage and not Rockstar Games.

It also seems that Take-Two Interactive is focusing on other projects first since they will soon be releasing the newest title of "WWE" this year. Another game that is being worked on by the company is "Mafia III." This means that the possibility of "Red Dead Redemption 2" making an appearance at the event is low.

Also, when a meeting occurred for the financial investors of the company, it is said that the title of the game was not presented in the list.

However, the game may already be in production since there were leaks that were released before. One of those leaks was reportedly a map of the game and it was revealed that it woould be more massive than "Red Dead Redemption."

Other rumors suggested that John Marston will no longer be the main character for the sequel, but there will be two new characters. The objective of the new protagonists is to find a hidden treasure that is believed to be concealed within the massive landscape. It is also said to be a prequel of the "Red Dead" franchise.

Fans are speculating that new details and information will be made available in 2017 and that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be released during that year as well.
