In February this year, Samsung had launched the Galaxy J1 which is currently the only official handset in the Galaxy J series. The Galaxy J1 is a low-end device with a 4.3-inch display, 512MB RAM and a 5 megapixel rear camera. According to recent media reports, Samsung will soon expand its Galaxy J line-up with the addition of two new two mid-range handsets, called the Galaxy J5 and the Galaxy J7.

The reports claim that the Galaxy J5, model number SM-J500F, is likely to sport a 5-inch HD LCD display and will be powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8916) that can be clocked up to 1.4GHz, along with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB of onboard storage (expandable via microSD card). The device will have an 8.5 mm profile, weigh 149 grams and is likely to be powered by a 2600mAh battery. The Galaxy J5 will reportedly have either a 13MP or 8MP main camera or a 5MP FFC and run on Android 5.1 Lollipop, with support for 4G LTE.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 has now been spotted in a leaked GFXBench result, with most of its hardware specs being listed in the benchmark's database. According to GFXBench website, the Galaxy J5 (model number SM-J500F) will sport a 5-inch display with 1280 by 720 pixels. The device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset, along with 1.5GB of RAM, and will have 4.7GB of available storage space out of a total of 8GB, a 13MP primary camera, and a 5MP secondary shooter. These specs match the earlier speculated features of the Samsung Galaxy J5.

Given its fairly unimpressive specs, the new Galaxy J5 handset is likely to be affordable, though no price indications are available as yet.
