Apple and Samsung have always been rivals, so when the iPhone 6s was released, tech enthusiasts could not help but compare the respective companies' flagship devices. Here is how the recently released iPhone 6s compares to the impressive dual-edge Galaxy S6 Edge.

Design

In terms of design, the S6 Edge is ahead because it has a unique screen with dual curved edges flowing over its right and left side. One of the edges can be customized to display five important contacts and users can assign colors to each. These colors will light up whenever a particular contact calls. Also alerts, notifications and a night clock can also be displayed on the edge. As for the build of the device, it has a metal frame and polished Gorilla Glass 4 on its front and back and has a fingerprint scanner incorporated into its home button. It is available in four colors, white, black, gold and green. As for the device from Apple, it has a body crafted fully from 7000 series aluminum, which has rounded corners. Just like the S6 Edge, it has a fingerprint scanner which can be used for unlocking the device, paying for Apps and using the Apple Pay. As for colors, there are four options, silver, gold, space gray and rose gold.

Display

When it comes to size and sharpness of display, the Galaxy S6 Edge takes the crown as it has a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 577 pixels per inch. As for the iPhone 6s, it has a 4.7-inch IPS LCDs screen with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels and a density of 326 pixels per inch. Also, the display has 3D Touch incorporated in it, which works along with the software to sense the pressure of the user's touch.

Specs

There is an A9 chipset in the iPhone 6s, however, Apple has not provided any other details about the device. As for the S6 Edge, it has an Exynos 7420 chipset, coupled with an octa-core CPU comprised of four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four clocked at 2.1 GHz along with a Mali-T760MP8 GPU.

Memory

There is no memory slot on each of these devices, therefore external storage cannot be added. However, when it comes to RAM, the S6 Edge is ahead with 3 GB, as the iPhone 6s is rumored to only have 2 GB.

Camera

The 12 megapixel camera on the iPhone 6s allows for recording 4K videos but it does not have optical image stabilization — a feature which comes along with the 16 megapixel camera of its competitor. The Samsung device's camera can also capture 4K videos.

Price

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is the costlier device and with a two-year contract, it costs $229. As for the iPhone 6s, it costs $199 with a similar contract.
