'Sister Wives' season 8 air date, renewal news: TLC remains mum on cancellation rumors

(Facebook/sisterwives)Fans await the fate of "Sister Wives."

Rumors of cancellation still plague the TLC reality show, "Sister Wives," after it was released that Kody Brown's four wives are no longer interested in continuing to be part of his polygamous family.

As per Life & Style, three of the sister wives who have been outcasts since Kody focused on his most recent partner, Robyn, are said to have given up on him and started dating other guys. On the other hand, Robyn, whom he married last season after divorcing Meri, allegedly cried foul when Kody expressed his plans to acquire two more wives. This puts him in a difficult situation, since the women are reportedly threatening him that they will no longer appear in the show. TLC is allegedly not happy with him as well. Does it mean there will no longer be a season 8 for the reality series?

Meanwhile, Kody's desperation to save his family reportedly led him to move the Browns from Lehi, Utah to Las Vegas. The Browns' attorney, Jonathan Turley, said in a statement (as per Yahoo News) that Kody made the decision because of Utah's polygamy law, which bans polygamists from cohabiting with partners they are not legally married to. Since Kody is only married to Robyn, having Meri, Janelle and Christine under one roof is technically against the law. The Browns, the lawyer said, are still determined to make things work for them, though.

"This has been an extended and difficult struggle for the Brown family but they have never wavered in their commitment to defending the important principles of religious freedom in this case. Utah is a state that was founded by courageous citizens seeking these very protections from government abuse and religious inequality. This lawsuit is true to the original dream of those seeking freedom in Utah," Turley said.

TLC has yet to comment on the renewal or cancellation of "Sister Wives." The only thing fans can do now is wait.
