It is fairly safe to say that the Star Wars franchise has been breaking the Internet in the past few days. Following the explosive reveal of its official movie poster, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has now released a brand-new trailer with all-new clips from the upcoming installment.

And boy, does it look great!

Those who have been following "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" news may be quick to jump the gun and say Disney and Lucasfilm are feeding viewers too much. But when it comes to Star Wars, there really isn't such a thing as "too much." The fanfare around the trailer, which dropped yesterday, said as much.

The new trailer, simply titled, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer (Official)," is roughly two and a half-minutes long. It gave good glimpses of the new characters that everyone will soon learn to love and, in some cases, hate. Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) all get their own moments in the first minute, given they are the new-generation protagonists and antagonist of the franchise.

Fans will also love to know that, like in the first teaser, Han Solo (Harrison Ford) make a great impact in the official trailer. Of course, they get to see Chewie, too - what's Han without the adorable Wookie, right? Check out the clip below.

The trailer premiered during Monday Night Football's halftime and was posted shortly on YouTube by the official Star Wars account.

Just a day after its posting, the trailer has already received almost 23 millions views with comments amounting to almost 60,000. The official Twitter had been showered with love, too, having been plagued with favourites and retweets for the video share. Currently, the tweet has 47,000 favourites and 54,000 retweets. Rumours also say that the fanfare has cause some movie ticketing sites to shut down shortly after ticket sales opened.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" keeps the force alive in theatres this Dec. 18.
