'The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar' and 'The Lion Guard' coming to Disney Channel

True to its theme, "Lion King's" circle of life goes on. This time, it continues with Kiara's younger brother Kion in the TV movie and animated series, "The Lion Guard."
Disney Channel has just announced a continuation of "The Lion King" story as they will be airing a new movie which will feature the beloved characters and some new ones which kids will surely love as well. The movie, "The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar" will air on November and will be followed-up by "The Lion Guard" TV series on Disney Junior come 2016.
The new story will follow Kion (voiced by Max Charles), Simba and Nala's second-born and youngest cub. Kion is tasked to be the Lion Guard leader, leading a group of animals to protect over the Pride Lands. The cub, however, goes against tradition and opts to invite his friends rather than the fast and fierce animals to the Lion Guard.
Kids (and adults who are kids-at-hearts) will also get to know Kion's friends: confident cheetah Fuli (voiced by Diamond White), hippopotamus Beshte (Dusan Brown), smart egret Ono (Atticus Shaffer), and brave honey badger, Bunga (Joshua Rush).
Disney Channel told the Los Angeles Times that Kion's Lion Guard will "learn how to utilize each of their unique abilities to solve problems and accomplish tasks to maintain balance within the Circle of Life."
But it will not be "The Lion King" without some of the characters that fans have already come to love. Returning to the new movie and the following series are Kion's sister Kiara, Rafiki (Khary Payton), Timon (Kevin Schon), Pumbaa (Ernie Sabella), and Mufasa (James Earl Jones).
"The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar" is the fourth movie in "The Lion King" franchise and the second to be aired straight to television. "The Lion Guard" is the franchise's second animated television series, next to "The Lion King's Timon and Pumbaa."
