'The Originals' season 3 spoilers: Is the beginning of Marcel's beastly power the end of the Mikaelsons in finale episode?

(The CW Network)With "The Originals" in danger, is Klaus' baby the Hope to their family's salvation?

Emotions have been running high in the episodes leading to the finale and one character has taken the biggest hit. There is no turning back for Marcel and he is revealed to be the beast in the prophecy. After taking the potion that made Lucien the monster he was, he is determined to see the end of the Mikaelsons. The finale is titled "The Bloody Crown" as Marcel rise to claim the throne.

Freya and Elijah have seen visions of the prophecy wherein Marcel kills Klaus. Rebekah also figures in the vision, but it is unclear what it means. It would be recalled that the prophecy introduced in season 3's first episode states that the three originals will die. "One by friend, one by foe, and one by family" has been the phrase central to the plot.

The vision Elijah and Freya have seen shows Marcel killing Klaus and Elijah, but only Rebekah's casket was seen. Rebekah and Marcel have a long history of love and betrayal. In the world of the vampires, long means thousands of years. They have defied others for each other and have betrayed each other for family.

The trailer shows Marcel biting Kol and a scene also suggests that Elijah's life is in danger after being bitten. Klaus is put in trial before a crowd of vampires that Marcel has gathered. Rebekah is shown talking to Marcel who tries to convince her to go against her siblings in search for justice. However during the trial, Rebekah stands by her brother.

Does this mean Rebekah holds the key against the prophecy? Will the uprise eventually dethrone the Mikalesons and see Marcel lead the vampires? What is in store for "The Originals" in season 4?

Find out on "The Originals" finale on May 20, 9 p.m., on The CW Network.
