'The Originals' season 4 spoilers: Klaus to survive thanks to an old love?

(Facebook/cworiginals)Caroline Forbes may appear in "The Originals" season 4.

Could Caroline Forbes (Candice King) be the person who helps Klaus (Joseph Morgan) return to power in the upcoming season of "The Originals"?

As per Parent Herald, a crossover between the show and the other CW series, "The Vampire Diaries," can happen in the next installment. Caroline, Klaus' former ladylove, may come to New Orleans and nurture the very weak vampire.

Because of Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), the Original is expected to spend the passing of time in a crypt, alone and without any hope of rescue. All his siblings, along with Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and their daughter Hope have left the city.

It has been previously revealed that it will not be long until Klaus finds a way out of his lonely prison. Someone will allegedly come to help him and it will be a totally unexpected person. It is possible that Caroline, whom he fell in love with in the past, will come and be his salvation. Rumors even claim that they will end up together.

In "TVD," Caroline is back with her boyfriend Stefan (Paul Wesley), but the threat of Elena's (Nina Dobrev) return may result to their break-up. Klaus, on the other hand, recently lost Cami (Leah Pipes). Caroline's arrival in the cursed city will be to Klaus' favor, especially now that he cannot trust anyone, not even family.

Morgan recently posted a video on his Instagram account, giving the fans something to chew on while waiting for season 4. According to him, betrayal is going to be the central theme of the new installment, as even allies will find themselves battling with each other.

"Someone will be betrayed. There will probably be a staking of some kind or another. Blood will flow. Enemies will become friends, friends will become enemies. Strange and new alliances will be formed. ... And most of all more than any of that, there will be Klaus," the actor said.

"The Originals" season 4 is expected to return midseason 2017.
