World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) fans might get one of the returns they so much anticipate as there are rumors that Goldberg is coming back to the company and might do it at "Clash of Champions" later this month.

The rumors of Goldberg again wrestling for the company intensified by the end of May as a "WWE 2K17" trailer featured him.

In the clip, there was also a possible hint of Goldberg facing Brock Lesnar when he again steps inside a WWE ring.

But when the teaser was released, it was reported that Goldberg's deal is with 2K Sports only and it does not include the WWE.

That may not be the story now as Cageside Seats reported that Goldberg and the WWE may have been negotiating for the former to have a match at "Clash of Champions."

The last time Goldberg fought in a WWE ring was at "Wrestlemania XX" when he took on Brock Lesnar and won in a fight which received negative reviews. Following that, he did not truly leave wrestling and appeared in a few shows in the independent circuit. He also dabbled in mixed martial arts (MMA) as a commentator.

For now, there is no name being linked to a potential match versus Goldberg. Lesnsar could be an option, but after what happened in their first encounter over a decade ago, the WWE may not entertain the idea of reviving the feud.

Currently, there are four matches set for "Clash of Champions" which will take place at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana on Sept. 25, 8 p.m. ET.

The bouts are for the WWE universal championship (Kevin Owens versus Seth Rollins), Raw tag team championships (The New Day versus Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson), Raw women's championship (Charlotte versus Sasha Banks), and a singles contest between Chris Jericho and Sami Zayn.
