Many rumors and alleged leaks have already popped up suggesting that the next wave of smartphones, like the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Xiao Mi 5 to name a few, might sport in a new Qualcomm chipset, the Snapdragon 820. However though, recent reports emerged claiming that there's a good chance that the release date of Xiaomi Mi 5 will be moved to next year as Qualcomm had reportedly delayed the launch of SD820.

According to the report from Tech Times, it seems like there is a slight delay for the production of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 and the release date of it could be moved to a much later timeframe. With that said, this delay could cause some slight changes as well for other manufacturers and one of them is Xiaomi with their next and upcoming flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 5.

Based on the report from Tech Times, Xiaomi is being rumored to go with their current plan of equipping the next Mi iteration with the SD820. Changing to other chip maker like MediaTek or other Qualcomm model, specifically the Snapdragon 810, is now apparently out of the question.

So a release date timeframe of sometime early 2016 is more likely to happen at this point. However though, considering that nothing has been made official yet is one indication for the fans to keep an open-mind for now and wait for further announcements.

In terms of specification, as said on Vine Report, Xiaomi's Mi 5 handset is being expected to come with a 5.2-inch screen with a display resolution of QHD. The screen of this smartphone is said to be protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass 4. Furthermore, it will also sport in a 4GB of RAM to back up its powerful CPU, if the rumor turns out to be accurate that is.

So for now though, it's best to take these rumors and speculations with a pinch of salt until Xiaomi announces any official news for the Xiao Mi 5.
