Though fans are still waiting to catch the return of Nina Dobrev in "The Vampire Diaries," viewers will see her in the upcoming film "XXX: Return of Xander Cage."

It was earlier announced that Dobrev will be playing a major role in the upcoming film, which is set to release early next year. A trailer for the movie was recently released, showing the actress in great condition.

It seems as though the actress buffed up for the role. Several reports talk about her fitness routine, which she followed even in her "TVD" days. Dobrev revealed that she works out everyday for an hour with her trainer. During the workouts, she focuses on increasing her stamina, balance, and speed. With that, fans can see the results throughout her whole body. In addition, she explained that she also does a lot of cardio, which includes running, surfing, as well as spinning. Yoga also remains a vital part of her routine.

Joining Dobrev in "XXX: Return of Xander Cage" is Deepika Padukone, a highly acclaimed Bollywood actress. Padukone also shared her own experience in working on the film alongside Dobrev and Vin Diesel.

According to Pink Villa, Padukone said: "I was a bundle of nerves on my first day on set because I was so far away from home and everyone was new and everything felt unfamiliar. But early on I realized that the process is exactly the same. People are different. If you can make the relationships work, it's all smooth sailing."

In addition, Diesel also expressed his affection towards the actress, who is reportedly like family to him.

That being said, there is a lot of excitement as to what the interesting mix of talents will present to the big screens. The upcoming installment of the franchise will surely bring some intriguing developments to the story.

"XXX: Return of Xander Cage" is expected to release in U.S. theaters on Jan. 20, 2017.
