"Switched at Birth" will be returning soon after its long mid-season break. Fans are therefore excited to know more details about what's going to happen to the Kennish family and of course, to Bay and Daphne. Fortunately, Mama Kennish revealed some of these awaited details.

Lea Thompson, who portrays Kathryn Kennish, spoke with Nerd Report about the return of "Switched at Birth." Some of the things she talked about were already previously confirmed: the marriage troubles between Kathryn and husband John (D.W. Moffett), a surprise pregnancy, and the Bay (Vanessa Marano)-Emmett (Sean Berdy) relationship. But she also talked about some new things, like the return of past characters.

"There's a lot of characters from past seasons that come to visit and cause trouble.... I'm really proud because I don't feel like the show's tired at all. We're conquering new elements. We're going different places with stories. It's not just rehashing the same old stuff over and over," said Thompson.

Speaking of past characters, the new episode of "Switched at Birth" season four is aptly called "To Repel Ghosts." New photos from the episode were posted by ABC. The images are various screenshots of Bay speaking with Emmett's mom, Melody (Marlee Matlin), as well of shots of Daphne (Katie Leclerc) in a bar.

Disney ABC's press site also posted the synopsis for the new episode and it seemed that viewers won't have to wait long to see everything that Thompson spoke about. The official synopsis goes, "Bay is haunted by her breakup with Emmett and struggles to figure out where their relationship fell apart. Daphne's excitement about her new relationship with Mingo is hampered by her friends' opinion of him. John and Kathryn's new accountant has some bad news. Regina digs deeper into the story of Eric's ex-wife, and everyone is shocked by the news that someone is pregnant."

"Switched at Birth" season four returns on Aug. 24, 8 p.m.
