Volvo has finally debuted the 2017 Volvo S90 luxury sedan. The all-new luxury sedan has been made from high-quality materials and is equipped with the latest technologies and class-leading semi-autonomous features.

"Our idea was to bring something entirely new to this rather conservative segment and deliver a visual expression that exudes leadership and confidence on the exterior. On the inside, we have taken the S90 to the next level, delivering a high-end luxury experience that promises comfort and control," said Thomas Ingenlath, Senior Vice President Design at Volvo.

The 2017 Volvo S90 was built using the same Scalable Product Architecture that underpins the 2016 XC90. The Volvo S90 features an elegant Scandinavian design. Its front fascia features a concave grille and T-shaped LED headlights. At the rear, there are C-shaped tail lamps. The luxury sedan was also designed to come with cutting-edge safety. Part of Volvo's Vision 2020 initiative is to have zero casualties for its vehicles.

The Volvo S90 is set to replace the S80. In terms of dimensions, it is an inch wider and four inches longer than its predecessor.

The 2017 Volvo S90 will have three powertrain options based on a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

The supercharged T6 engine produces 316 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

The turbocharged T5 engine produces 240 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It also comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission but with a front-wheel drive.

The third engine options is the clean and powerful T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid with 400 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid variant runs on three modes – EV, Hybrid and Power.

Inside the Volvo S90, interiors are minimalist and clutter-free. The cabin features light-colored wood and silver matte trimmings with minimal use of buttons. The Volvo S90 also comes with the Sensus Connect touchscreen infotainment system which can also seen on the award-winning 2016 Volvo XC90.

The 2017 Volvo S90 comes standard with Pilot Assist. This feature can steer the car at low speeds as long as the driver's hand remains on the wheel. Also standard is the Volvo City Safety system that includes low-speed forward collision warning and automatic braking. The vehicle will be able to react to pedestrians, cyclists, vehicles and even large animals.

The 2017 Volvo S90 will be unveiled to the public for the first time during the 2016 Detroit Auto Show in January and the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March. The all-new Volvo S90 will arrive at dealers by early summer of 2016.
