Acer Predator 15 and 17 official specs and release date: Acer showcases two new gaming laptops at IFA 2015
The new line of the Predator series has finally been unveiled by Acer at the IFA 2015 and it includes the two gaming laptops called the Acer Predator 15 and the Predator 17.
Last IFA 2015, Acer did not just reveal their new gaming handset and tablet, dubbed the Predator 6 and 8, respectively. The company also teased tech enthusiasts with two new gaming laptop variants in the series, which is now called Predator 15 and 17, according to Gizmag.
As for the specifications, both gaming laptops will actually be equipped with similar internal specs. The only difference lies on the screen size. The former is going to be much smaller than the latter. The Predator 15 has a 15.6-inch screen while the Predator 17 has a 17.3-inch screen. Despite the difference in screen size, both laptops come with 4k resolution display. If fans are looking for a gaming laptop which is more affordable, fortunately, they have models which come with full HD displays, as mentioned on Gizmag.
In terms of power, both Predator gaming rigs are expected to run on the latest and fastest Intel chip available in the market today, which is the Skylake or commonly referred to as the 6th gen Intel processor, specifically i7-6700. The RAM is expected to reach a maximum of 64 GB DDR4.
The Predator 15 and 17 will be equipped with the latest laptop GPU from nVidia, the GTX 980, to ensure smoother performance especially of course, when playing GPU-extensive games.
Other listed specifications include a Windows 10 operating system right out of the box, as well as a 512 GB Solid State Drive (SSD), which is much faster than the traditional Hard Disk Drive.
As mentioned on Gizmag, Acer is planning to release these two gaming laptops in November. However, a specific release date has yet to be announced. Prices will start at $1,499.99 for the Predator 15 and $1,599.99 for the larger Predator 17.
