Season two of "Agent Carter" is scheduled to premiere in early 2016 during the midseason break of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Set to air 10 episodes, the cast and crew began production for the new season last Aug. 31.

The second season will be set in 1947; six months after the events of the first season. After finally saying goodbye to Steve Rogers and earning the respect of her colleagues last season, Peggy Carter will have a much lighter disposition and will be ready to take on a new adventure.

Peggy's new adventure will be her most dangerous assignment yet. She will be headed to Los Angeles, possibly to fight new atomic threats in the wake of WWII. According to executive producer, Michele Fazekas, "There's a new case that goes beyond what the LAPD or normal local police would be able to handle that falls into their purview." Los Angeles is also the perfect location for season two, not only for its spectacular wealth and glamour but also for its grit and crime.

Jarvis, Agent Sousa and Agent Jack Thompson are all back for season two as well. Thompson has taken over the SSR office in New York. Marvel Entertainment also revealed in their first look of the season that Agent Daniel Sousa has been promoted to Chief of the Los Angeles SSR office.

While Jarvis isn't an agent, the producers have found an organic way to incorporate his character into the forthcoming season. Unfortunately, "Jarvis is not a fan of Los Angeles. He hates California, he hates palm trees. He does not stop wearing a wool suit," Fazekas added.

On the other hand, Peggy will come to love the challenges that Los Angeles has for her, including meeting new people, including Dr. Henry, and possibly having a new love interest. However, while in Hollywood, she will also encounter Madam Masque, the villain for the upcoming season.

Season two of "Agent Carter" premieres in early 2016.
