CW's super hit show "America's Next Top Model" has given the world hundreds of trained, professional and beautiful models. However, season eight's finalist, Renee Alway, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for burglary. In 2007, Renee came in third place in the show and even went on to become a finalist in "Modelville", a spin-off of America's Next Top Model. After months of advertisements, the blonde beauty found herself homeless and jobless, according to ABC news.

The now 28-year-old former model recently told her tale in an interview. In it she highlights her struggles in securing work as "It was just closed door, after closed door, after closed door. And that was really hard to take." She pleaded guilty to four counts of burglary, one count of vehicle theft, being a felon in possession of firearms and one misdemeanor count of identity theft.

She can't even remember how she became a felon, claiming that she has "bits and pieces of broken memory about it." The mother-of-three admitted that life after the show was difficult and she could not handle the rejection. But the former model also admitted that many girls were eliminated and did well so she must have made some bad choices along the way.

The Daily Mail reports that the hardest part for her was leaving her three children, the third one being born just weeks before her arrest in Palm Springs, California. She took to burglary as a means to survive and was numb to it before getting arrested. Alway cites that her lowest moment was sobering up and undergoing a metamorphosis. She now sports a Mohawk and has accepted her fate. When questioned about the change in her appearance she explains, "I've been through this part...Now I'm ready to shed the old, and let's start anew". She hasn't seen her children since her arrest 18 months ago.
