In the latest round of rumors and speculations about Apple's upcoming iPhone, fresh reports claim that the new iPhone could be available for pre-order by as early as September 18 this year.

According to an article by Mobile News, the telecommunications company Vodafone has informed its staff via email about possible pre-orders of the new iPhone on September 18. The report also said that the email did not mention the iPhone model and instead referred to the product as simply 'New iPhone ' and leaving out the number, similar to the way Apple does before releasing the new iPad.

There have been various rumors and specifications surrounding the new iPhone, much to the excitement of Apple fans. There have also been speculations about the number of models that Apple will release. Apple is expected to unveil three iPhones, out of which two models will have the same length as the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Apple's third iPhone model could feature a smaller 4-inch variant, which could be a cheaper version similar to the iPhone 5c.

The new iPhone is expected to offer 2GB RAM, while a report by TechnoBuffalo claims that the upgraded device will deliver an improved performance and come with multi-tasking capabilities. There are also rumors of the new iPhone arriving with a longer battery life, as Apple has reportedly been hiring new engineers who specialize in improving battery performance.

The new iPhone is expected to sport a 12 megapixel rear camera, marking a huge leap from its predecessor, the iPhone 6, which comes with an 8 megapixel rear camera.

Apple has neither confirmed nor denied any of the rumors surrounding the new iPhone and is also yet to announce a release date.
