The wait for the Apple Watch 2 may soon be coming to an end, and if some predictions are correct, then folks may finally be able to get their first look at the new wearable at the upcoming Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).

Right now, Apple has not indicated that they will indeed be showing off the new wearable at the upcoming event, instead opting to focus more on the new operating systems that will be showcased.

Still, it makes sense for Apple to launch the new wearable at the WWDC, if only because doing so would ensure that the device gets as much attention as it possibly can, especially since no other major products are currently slated to show up at the event.

However, until an official announcement is made, the Apple Watch 2 showing up at the WWDC is still just a possibility, and according to Tech Radar, it's also just one of two probable release dates for the new wearable.

As the web site noted, if not at the WWDC, then the Apple Watch 2 may make its debut later this year. Specifically, it could be announced in September, right alongside the iPhone 7. The web site also indicated that the September release date may also be more in line with Apple's slower development approach to relatively newer products, though without any official announcement, this possibility also remains unconfirmed.

Aside from the aforementioned release date possibilities for the new device, Apple could also decide to hold a separate event for it, though doing so may mean that they will have something new and significant to show off, and noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities hinted earlier this year that this may not be the case.

In a note from Kuo that was obtained by Apple Insider, the analyst shared that this year's version of the Apple Watch is expected to focus more on spec improvements as opposed to overall design changes.

Kuo added that those who want to see a significantly different-looking Apple Watch may have to wait until next year.
