The Apple Watch has quickly emerged as the most popular smartwatch. However, other devices in the market have been trying to keep up, including LG's Watch Urbane LTE. The Watch Urbane LTE boasts of great specs and even features that even the Apple Watch lacks. Here is how the two devices fare in comparison.

Design

When it comes to design, the Apple Watch offers a wider range of options to users. Users can start choosing between the 38 mm model and the 42 mm model and then select whether they want the Watch Sport, the Apple Watch or the Apple Watch Edition. Each line of Apple Watch uses different materials for the device's body including anodized aluminum, stainless steel and solid gold. As for the straps, users can choose from leather, stainless steel or Fluoroelastomer. Each Apple Watch also has to be paired with a compatible device such as the iPhone to receive calls and send text messages and emails. It is important to take note, however, that all Apple Watches have an IPX7 rating, which means that it has not been rated for dust-resistance and can only withstand splashes of water.

The Watch Urbane LTE, which is noticeably larger than the Apple Watch, has a round body made of stainless steel with a silver finish. It has three buttons on its side and users can easily navigate to the home screen using the middle button. Unlike the Apple Watch, which comes in a variety of options, the Watch Urbane LTE comes with a default rubber strap with a sturdy clasp. Users will have to keep in mind, however, that the strap cannot be easily swapped out with standard straps available in the market. Its edge is its LTE chip, which allows it to be used as a smartphone so users can make and receive calls. It is also equipped with NFC for payments and offers the push-to-talk (PTT) feature to allow wearers to use it as a walkie-talkie to communicate with other devices on the same network. Though the smartwatch runs on the WebOS, it can also be paired with an Android device and since it comes with an IP67 rating, it is dust-proof and can even be submerged for up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.
