'Assassin's Creed' movie update: First image from set shows iconic Abstergo logo

Aside from casting news, not much has been revealed about the upcoming "Assassin's Creed" film. But with filming already underway, fans can expect more updates to start trickling in. This week they get one new update via a photo posted by the franchise's head of content.
"Assassin's Creed," which is based on the popular video game franchise from Ubisoft, has started principal photography last August. Two months later, fans finally get what is to be the first image from the set of the movie. Azaïzia Aymar, Assassin's Creed's head of content, posted about his first experience to walk inside Abstergo. He calls it amazing and posts a photo along with it. It is, of course, the Abstergo interiors with its glowing logo all in display.
It's obvious with this one tweet how fans have been awaiting for updates on the film. Aymar's tweet had been re-tweeted 667 times as of press time and favourited over 1,000 times. Responses have also been generally positive, with fans expressing happiness that the film adaptation seem to be retaining a lot from the game's universe - including the iconic Abstergo logo.
Recently, it was reported that the movie is being helmed by Justin Kurzel. Cast in the role of the Assassin is Michael Fassbender, who will be playing two characters originally created for the film - 15th Century assassin Aguilar and his modern-day descendant Callum Lynch. Also confirmed in the film cast are Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, and Brendan Gleeson. The last two play the film's father figures, Irons to Cotillard and Gleeson to Fassbender.
"Assassin's Creed" is one of the most recognisable video game franchises around. It has appeared on multiple platforms since the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and even PSP era. Since then, there have been games for the Wii U, DS, Xbox One, PS4, and PS Vita. It has a reported total sales of 91 million units.
The film rolls out to theaters on Dec. 21, 2016.
