Asus GX700 update: Upcoming watercooled laptop still carries quite a bit of weight despite the thin body

Typically, when a device sports in a thin body, tech enthusiasts will presume that the weight of it will be light. However, for the case of Asus' upcoming gaming laptop, dubbed as Asus ROG (Republic of Gamers) GX700, it seems like fans will be in for a huge surprise—a thin casing but heavy on the weight.
According to PC Gamer, the Asus GX700 will sport in a surprisingly thin casing for its body but unfortunately, it doesn't necessarily mean that the unit will be light to handle or hand carry. It was revealed on their report that the world's first watercooled laptop will in fact weigh in at an amazing eight pound or 3.6kg.
As explained on the report from PC Gamer, Asus' GX700 is equipped with a standard heat pipes as well as the watercooling pipes for the latest tech. With this combination, overheating issues on the gaming rig can be reduced drastically.
Furthermore, other than the fact that the GX700 will be the world's first laptop to ever come with the watercooling system, this monster gaming rig is one of the lucky few to ever be powered by an nVidia GPU desktop grade—not the M series or version.
In terms of specifications, this rig will be equipped with the latest tech from Intel, the Intel Skylake i7-6820HK processor that has an average clock speed of 2.7GHz which can be then adjusted to 3.6GHz thanks to its turbo boost.
The display will feature a 17.3-inch screen with IPS display and has a standard 1080p resolution but can perfectly modified and configured to produce 4K quality. In addition, the ROG GX700's memory can be maxed out up to 64GB DDR4 RAM and a GTX 980 GPU from nVidia.
No words yet on the release date or when fans can pre-order the Asus ROG GX700 or even the pricing for that matter.
