Many fans had predicted before that the second season of the anime adaptation of the popular manga "Shingeki no Kyojin," also known by its English name, "Attack on Titan," will return this February alongside the launch of its video game adaptation for the PlayStation 4, PS3, and PlayStation Vita. However, it appears like this isn't going to happen anytime soon as the producer of the show still hasn't released any updates regarding the premiere, according to the report from Design and Trend.

The reason behind the long delay for "Attack on Titan" season two was due to the agreement that manga creator Hajime Isayama and anime director Tetsuro Araki had signed, as said on Crossmap. The contract between the two had stated that the show will only continue if the manga is four arcs ahead of the storyline, which it is currently going for its third arc titled "Return to Shinganshina."

This move will definitely guarantee that the narrative will stick to its root. Furthermore, it seems like "Attack on Titan" will not go the same route as the other anime who have ended with a different storyline from its material source, or even release a few fillers just to give the manga a good head start.

If this is the case, then fans can expect the show to return sometime later this year, or even worse, earlier next year.

In terms of what fans can expect in the storyline, "Attack on Titan" season two will pick off after the events in season one where Eren and the 104th Trainee Squad will get to know the real identities of the two mysterious titans called the Armored Titan and the Colossal Titan.

For now, though, fans are advised to take the circulating rumors with a pinch of salt, and consider them as mere speculation until proven otherwise.
