"Attack on Titans" season 2 is not expected to arrive earlier than spring next year, but that doesn't stop the fans from talking about what its story may have to offer. However, it is widely believed that the upcoming season will feature the manga story arc "Clash of Titans."

According to reports, it is almost certain that the "Clash of Titans" story arc will be employed as the plot for the upcoming season 2 of "Attack on Titan." After all, based on the promotional poster of the upcoming season of the anime, Colossal Titan is seen trying to break into the walls.

However, it is also said that "Attack on Titan" season 2 may be a fusion of two story arcs from the manga. Apart from the "Clash of Titans" story arc, it is also said that it might feature the "Uprising" arc from the manga.

The "Uprising" arc highlights the murder of Minister Nick and the near-abduction of Eren and Historia.

Despite the fusion of two story arcs from the manga, though, there are also rumors claiming that "Attack on Titan" season 2 may somehow deviate from its events in its print counterpart as, allegedly, its writer Hajime Isayama has penned new story arcs that have never been tackled in the manga and will serve as filler episodes.

However, some fans can't help but wonder why there would be a need to come up with filler episodes as, after all, "Clash of Titans" has 15 chapters, while "Uprising" offers 36.

With this, it is now suspected that "Attack on Titan" season 2 will observe the practice of anime programs to allow their manga counterparts to be, at least, four story arcs ahead of their anime versions. Hence, the need to come up with filler episodes.

Nonetheless, without any official word at this point in time, everything is just a speculation. In the event that "Attack on Titan" season 2 really airs within the first quarter of next year, only by then it can be verified what its plot will be.
