'Bates Motel' season 5 spoilers: Is Norma forcing Norman to do something against his will?

(Facebook/BatesMotelAETV)Norman and Norma are getting rid of another body in "Bates Motel" season 5.

Norman (Freddie Highmore) seems to be having a conflict with his dead mother on the next episode of "Bates Motel" season 5.

In the trailer for the episode titled "Hidden," Norman is heard telling his mother that he does not want to follow her orders anymore. He particularly tells her that he dislikes getting rid of dead bodies, chaining people in the basement, or dumping people in the lakes. But Norma (Vera Farmiga) appears to question him about his decisions.

It means that Norman's mental condition is fast-becoming worse since he believes that all the crimes that he committed in the past were caused by his dead mother.

But another person might be added to the dead toll, as Norman thinks that his mother caught him and Madeleine Loomis (Isabelle McNally) making out in the kitchen. Norman is obviously surprised with his mother's intrusion, but he immediately apologizes to his mother after a hand holding a knife flashes in the sneak peek.

The trailer also reveals that Norman will be asked by the town's new police officer Sheriff Dana Greene (Brooke Smith) about Alex Romero's (Nestor Carbonell) whereabouts, after the former sheriff manages to break out of prison. But according to the synopsis for the episode, Romero will have a hard time looking for a safe spot to hide from the authorities and avoid being put back in jail.

In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, series co-creator Carlton Cuse explained that Romero's arc in "Bates Motel" season 5 was intentionally made as a crime story.

"Kerry [Ehrin] and I always talk about the show as a romantic tragedy crossed with a pulpy crime drama. That is an interesting juxtaposition of genres," Cuse stated. "Romero is definitely going to play a key role in the pulpy crime drama as it goes through the rest of the season."

A&E will air the next episode of "Bates Motel" season 5 on Monday, March 13, at 10 p.m. EST.
