'Battlefield 1' news update features 2016: New game update includes new map, gameplay additions, and tweaks; Conan plays the game on 'Clueless Gamer'

Dice, in partnership with publisher Electronic Arts (EA), will be launching an update to "Battlefield 1" today, Dec. 13, which will add a new map, gameplay mode, and fixes to enhance the experience of the game.
On Battlefield news page, creators of the game have announced that it will be adding Giant's Shadow, a new map directly lifted from the 1918 Battle of the Selle. The open environment makes it a challenging war ground to be in, and, if that's not enough, the new Grenade Crossbow will also be made available.
The said environment will be made available for free to EA Account holders, Xbox Live Gold, and PlayStation Plus subscribers on Dec. 20. Players who pre-ordered the game, however, can get first dibs on the new map through Early Access by Dec. 13.
Spectator mode is also going to be introduced in the update. The said mode allows the player to act as an observer on a live "Battlefield 1" match, and, as such, can toggle through different views, such as Table Top, Player View, and Free Cam. This would be particularly useful for communities who love uploading their gameplay and adding flair by using different camera angles.
A lot of tweaks will also be made as a result of player feedback, but perhaps the most notable of them all is the overpowered shotgun. The update will aim to balance it out a bit, creating a leveled playing field for all players and types of weapons for the game.
Players will get to know in-depth details of the update on the community forum once it has been launched.
In other related news, Conan O'Brien plays "Battlefield 1" with guest Terry Crews on his show's segment called "Clueless Gamer." Immediately, O'Brien says he's happy to finally get to try out a game he really wanted, and even praised the quick yet elaborate pace of the title.
"This is the fastest I've got into the game in a long time. Usually there's 45 minutes of BS," O'Brien jests when they started playing. In the opening sequence where a tank is blown to smithereens, a memorial flashes, which reads "Archie Lakeman, 1899–1918," giving weight to the history lesson that things were real in WWI. O'Brien, in true comedy style, jokes again and says, "This is what we're going to look like six months into a Trump presidency."
The game was so intense that Conan and Terry needed bunnies to calm their nerves. In summary, O'Brien said, "'Battlefield 1' will make you want to urinate."
