'Blindspot' episode 10 spoilers: Jane tortured at the hands of Tom Carter; 'Evil Handmade Instrument' is last episode before break

"Blindspot" has definitely gotten its groove on, and it comes just in time for the show's midseason finale.

The crime drama started slowly but burned hotter as the episodes rolled by and the fans got to know the protagonist – the mysterious Jane Doe – better. It had a few false starts but as the previous episode showed, the show has finally found its footing and delivered an episode with the right amount of humor, action and intensity.

Episode 9, "Authentic Flirt," saw Jane (Jaimie Alexander) and Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) going undercover as assassins. The episode started with Patterson (Ashley Johnson) deciphering one of Jane's tattoos, which led to a shoot-out with a Bulgarian couple. With the pair killed, Weller and Jane had to pretend to be them in order to retrieve a list of impending assassinations. Fans have described the episode as a fun spy thriller.

The episode also shocked viewers with two character deaths, that of Guerrero (Lou Diamond Phillips) and Patterson's boyfriend, David (Joe Dinicol). Viewers certainly didn't see those deaths coming but according to a Variety interview given by show creator Martin Gero, those deaths would have repercussions that will be felt starting in episode 10.

The upcoming episode is also the show's midseason finale. A Carter Matt synopsis for episode 10 hints at an exciting episode as a group of sleeper spies have been awakened and are set to wreak havoc, with Weller and his team scrambling to stop them from carrying out the assassinations they were ordered to do.

The trailer for the episode, titled "Evil Handmade Instrument," doesn't show the sleeper spies, but certainly revealed that Jane is in a lot of danger from CIA Director Tom Carter (Michael Gaston). The sneak peek begins with Weller telling Jane that her tattoos had saved a lot of lives, but she tearfully points out that that won't happen this time. Carter is seen telling Mayfair (Marianne Jean-Baptiste) that she should do her job as he had done his. This is followed by scenes of Weller promising that "they'll find her," of the FBI agent and Jane running after someone and of a mystery person on a motorcycle shooting at them.

The clip ends with Jane tied up while Carter water boards her. He stops and asks her who she is. Jane answers that she doesn't know and he says that he thinks she does know who she is.

The mid-season finale of "Blindspot" will be aired on Nov. 23. The show will go on a hiatus and will return in February 2016.
