'Castle' season 8 spoilers: Castle and Beckett investigate a poison victim in episode 19; Stana Katic exits season 9

Castle and Beckett investigate a city safety inspector's poisoning in the upcoming episode 19, titled "Dead Again," of the eighth season of the crime drama "Castle."
A mild-mannered safety inspector for the city survives a poisoning. But after he survives another, Castle and Beckett have to solve the mystery behind it.
The promo trailer for "Dead Again" shows the city safety inspector's death and resurrection. Castle finds his case interesting and thinks that he is immortal. The man suggests his superhero name would be "Captain Cool," which Castle finds terrible. Before the clip ends, Castle hits his head and jokes that he is just checking if he has some spidey-sense.
In other related news, ABC plans to renew the show for another season, which probably is the last one. However, Beckett's Stana Katic and fellow original cast member Tamala Jones will no longer return for another. Castle's Nathan Fillion is also still in negotiations with the show. Rumor has it that the planned ninth season could likely run for 13 episodes at a reduced licensed fee.
According to reports, ABC and ABC Studios were the ones who decided for Katic's exit. Even though Fillion has been in talks with the network, Katic apparently was never approached to extend her contract. Katic and Jones' departure from the show is because of budget reasons.
Katic, however, chose not to comment about the reason behind her exit. In a statement, she expressed her thanks for the fans, the amazing experience, and the network for giving her the opportunity to star on the show.
"Kate Beckett has been a beloved character on our hit series 'Castle' for the past 8 years. We are grateful for Stana Katic's talent and dedication to the series and we hope to continue our relationship," ABC said in a statement to Deadline.
"Castle" season 8 airs every Monday at 10 p.m. on ABC.
