It has been more than a decade since Chevrolet unveiled their Colorado line of trucks. However, car enthusiasts are still very eager to welcome the offering for the car model each year. The fan fair really comes as no surprise as the "Chevy Colorado" is lauded as the number one compact pick-up truck in the market today.

There is only good news for Colorado fans as just two days ago, it was announced that the wait for the new model of the award-winning car would soon be over. And by the looks of it, the Chevy Colorado 2016 also known as "Colorado Duramax Diesel" would be the best one of the line yet.

The "Chevrolet Colorado," which was first made available in 2004, is a line of compact trucks manufactured and marketed by General Motors. The truck line is assembled in three different locations – the US, Brazil and Thailand.

In a statement released on GM's official site two days ago, July 28, 2015, the company revealed that the Colorado Duramax Diesel would be available as early as this fall. Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet's truck marketing director, further explained why the upcoming model would take the Colorado to a whole new level.

"Simply put, there's no other midsize truck that can do what Colorado can with its all-new Duramax diesel. Along with greater capability and efficiency, it expands the Colorado lineup to give customers more choices and the capability of exploring more possibilities on and off the road."

The "Colorado Duramax Diesel" not only has a powerful 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel engine but also has a smart diesel brake system, Hydra-Matic 69L50 six-speed automatic transmission with a centrifugal pendulum vibration absorber and a Chevy MyLink. Plus it is also Apple CarPlay compatible.

"It is a no-compromise turbocharged engine that is also really fun to drive, with excellent responsiveness," gushed Scott Yackley, the car's assistant chief engineer.

No exact date has been announced for the release of "Chevrolet Colorado Duramax Diesel," however, the car is slated to be made available by fall this year.
