'Chicago Fire' season 4: Dawson will regret pushing Casey into politics

(Facebook/NBCChicagoFire)Dawson has some serious competition in Casey's heart in the upcoming episode of "Chicago Fire."

Gabriela Dawson (Monica Raymund) will always regret that time she convinced Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) not to give up on his alderman campaign in "Chicago Fire."

From how it looks like, the lieutenant will most likely win the election over opponent Colin Becks (guest star Armand Schultz), but his success will come with a price. Casey's already difficult relationship with Dawson will become even more problematic with his new task as a politician. Being alderman will require him to attend to important community events that he will not be able to spend as much time as before with her.

When Casey felt like giving up due to Beck's black propaganda about him, it was Dawson who told him he must stay strong. She will soon realize that his dual profession will just push them further apart. Ever since she lost their baby in episode 4 of the current season, they have been trying to fix their relationship. Both have been very depressed, but they have been slowly working things out.

Aside from lack of time, Dawson will also have to worry about a female political consultant that will prove to be a thorn between them. Spencer told Entertainment Weekly that Casey will have a tough time keeping his eyes off his pretty advisor and that his apparent fascination will create problems with Dawson.

"He's going to meet a political consultant that turns his head a little bit. She's a fairly attractive go-getter that is going to aide him in his political career, and they're going to establish a connection, which is going to cause some conflict," the actor said.

Meanwhile, the upcoming episode titled "What Happened to Courtney" will see Casey and Becks neck to neck as they try to convince the majority to vote for them. The synopsis reveals that the current alderman is preparing the biggest exposé on his opponent, but Casey is ready to take whatever will be dished out on him. Is it time for Becks to kiss his position goodbye?

"Chicago Fire" season 4 episode 17 will air on Tuesday, March 29 at 10 p.m. EDT on NBC.
