Severide (Taylor Kinney) will party hard with the elites in the upcoming episode of "Chicago Fire." Is this to show Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) that he is still as popular as he was before they became an item?

In the episode titled "Scorched Earth," the synopsis (as per CarterMatt) reveals that the lieutenant will reconnect with an old friend. Travis Brenner (guest star Scott Elrod) has returned to the Windy City and will ask Severide to come with him on a road trip. Fresh from the humiliation he experienced after getting involved in Stella's messy life, Severide wants to kick back and forget his troubles. Travis, known for his extravagant parties and Casanova ways, will come right in the nick of time. How will Stella react to her lover's attempt to forget her?

Perhaps Stella will not notice Severide at all since she will be busy helping a street kid whom she will rescue from a tunnel fire. The boy is sick and needs medical help as soon as possible. Stella will reportedly do everything she can to help the poor kid. She may still have too many things on her mind because of Grant (Guy Burnet), but she is not one to turn her back on someone who needs her.

Meanwhile, Casey (Jesse Spencer) will surprisingly ask for Susan's (guest Star Lauren Stamile) help about a personal matter. Does it have something to do with Dawson (Monica Raymund)?

In the promo, Dawson is shown trying to administer first aid on a young boy. He is unconscious and his mother is beside herself with worry. As Dawson and Brett (Kara Killmer) do their best to see what is really wrong with the kid, the mother panics and tries to stop them from doing anything. Dawson is shown grabbing the woman's arms and shaking some sense into her. She tells the mom that if they do not check the boy now, he will die.

"Chicago Fire" season 5 airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on NBC.
