'Chicago Fire' season 5 premiere spoilers: crossover romance between Brett and a 'Chicago P.D.' detective; is Dawson changing jobs?

Aside from the epic four-way OneChicago crossover, "Chicago Fire" fans will also be treated to a crossover romance between Sylvie Brett and "Chicago P.D" detective Antonio Dawson.
If recent reports are to be believed, fans have to watch out for several key relationships in "Chicago Fire's" fifth season. A pairing that will undoubtedly have fans excited is the one between Sylvie (Kara Killmer) and Det. Dawson (Jon Seda).
"Chicago Fire's" showrunner Matt Olmstead recently told EW that the idea of Sylvie and Antonio getting together gained momentum because of the actors. Aside from the chemistry between the two, the producer hinted at the interesting possibilities that can come up with the duo's May-December slant. Aside from the age difference, Gabby Dawson's (Monica Raymund) older brother is also divorced and has kids.
"She's looking for a real man, he qualifies," Olmstead explained. "He's looking for a real soul, a real heart, and she qualifies."
However, there's the question of whether Dawson would be amenable to her brother dating Brett and vice-versa. But there's the possibility that she might not have the time or the inclination to have an opinion about Antonio's personal life as she has an important decision to make regarding her career.
This was hinted at by Jesse Spencer, who plays Dawson's partner, Matt Casey. The actor told TV Guide that "two people running into burning buildings is not great," especially now that there's a child in the equation. Working as an EMT might not also be the safest job for Dawson, so perhaps she has to consider a total career change in season 5.
A new bromance might also be in the cards for Severide (Taylor Kinney) next season. It has been confirmed that hunky "Grey's Anatomy" doctor Scott Elrod has been cast as Travis Brenner, a celebrity who befriends Severide and who will cause some mischief in the show's first three episodes.
"He feels like Severide is a real guy, not the usual hanger-on, entourage type of guy that he's used to hanging out with, so he's attracted to Severide in that way," executive producer Derek Haas explained.
The premiere episode of "Chicago Fire" season 5 is slated to be aired on NBC on Oct. 11 at 10 p.m.
