The time has come for the big confrontation between buddies Roman (Brian Geraghty) and Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) over Burgess (Marina Squerciati) in the upcoming episode of the NBC series "Chicago P.D."

In "If We Were Normal," CarterMatt reports that Ruzek will finally speak up about his suspicion that there is something going on between his ex-fiancée and the other detective. Ever since Burgess decided to break off the engagement, Ruzek has chosen to be quiet about what happened. The truth was he was just not prepared to marry her, that was why he kept on postponing the wedding date.

Burgess was not insensitive. She could sense that her boyfriend had been stalling. Although she knew Ruzek loved her, she still decided to give him back the engagement ring. He never said anything though because he knew he was wrong. Now that Burgess is finally moving on from their failed relationship, Ruzek cannot help but feel jealous. He especially does not like that the man his ex may end up choosing is none other than Roman.

As work buddies, Burgess and Roman spend a lot of time together. It was he who comforted her when she and Ruzek broke up. They have always been friends, but there is always the likelihood of becoming attracted to each other. Ruzek can sense that there is something more than friendship between the two and will promptly ask Roman about it. In her recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Squerciati revealed that she was very much surprised when the series' showrunners mentioned a possible love affair with Geraghty's character.

"I'm interested because I feel like Roman and I have a real buddy relationship and I can't see quite yet how that would turn, if it is going to turn. I have no scoop there, but if its going to turn, I haven't seen how it will happen yet," she said.
