"Criminal Minds" has dealt with truck stop murders and taxi drivers run amock several times in its eleven season run. But it's a testament to the writers' prowess that they can use the same trope and come up with something new.

With the BAU team fresh off a case that involved a ride-share app, the team is once more tasked with solving murders that revolve around truck stops.

A synopsis posted on Carter Matt for episode 13, "The Bond," reveals that the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit are scrambling to find a motive and a suspect when victims are disturbingly displayed in truck stop restrooms along the southern United States.

The upcoming episode's trailer gives the viewers a glimpse of this depraved crime. The teaser starts with a shot of a woman's hands tied to a metal rod, followed by an older woman saying that "mother will love and accept you no matter what." Viewers then see a woman in the trunk of a car, as a man looks down at her. Dr. Lewis (Aisha Tyler) is helping out the team once more and shares with Morgan (Shemar Moore) her theory that the unsub might be working off a kill list.

Viewers are also given a glimpse of the unsub, as a man looks at his reflection in a mirror. Interestingly, he bears a slight resemblance to Dr. Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler), with his brownish-blonde hair and lanky frame. But that's where the resemblance ends as Reid would never strangle and stuff a woman in the trunk of a car, as the man is shown doing. He also seems to have a complex about his mother, as he angrily tells the woman that "mother was right about you." The clip ends with the old woman hugging the man and praising him for being the son that every mother wants.

The episode might be the last that "Criminal Minds" fans will see of Tyler's character, Dr. Lewis. The forensic psychologist had been previously assigned to another job, but one that allows her to consult with the BAU from time to time. Hopefully, the writers will be able to bring back Dr. Lewis to work with the team once more.

Episode 13 of "Criminal Minds" season 11 will air on Jan.27.
