"Criminal Minds" season 11 wrapped up the first half of its season with Penelope Garcia still in the Witness Protection Program and the Dirty Dozen still at large. Fans of the series will soon see Reid go on a date that might not end well for him when "Criminal Minds" returns in January.

In the winter finale of the long-running police procedural, the BAU had to hunt for an UnSub that seems to have a fascination for unorthodox medical procedures. However, the episode focused less on the case of the week and more on Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) being targeted by a hit man. But since it was the last episode, it was a given that it would end in a cliffhanger.

While fans didn't get to see much of Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthey Grey Gubler) in action, he was admittedly there in spirit, like when Rossi (Joe Mantegna) rattled off some scientific stuff and credited the genius for it. But the midseason premiere is a different story as the show will focus on Reid and his date.

A "Cinema Blend" article described how in episode 11, "Entropy," Reid will be out on a date with a beautiful woman named Cat Adams. Played by "Parks and Recreation's" Aubrey Plaza, the quiet dinner date Reid has envisioned will take an unexpected and deadly turn as Cat pulls out a gun and takes the whole restaurant hostage. She tells Reid that she knows what he does for a living and appears to want to play a game with the seasoned profiler.

Reid can't seem to catch a break when it comes to love, and there will undoubtedly be fans who will protest this new development. So far, Reid has fallen for an upcoming actress who was dealing with a stalker in season 1 and with Maeve, a geneticist who was living in fear because of a stalker. His relationship with the former didn't work out because of their jobs while the latter was more tragic, as he saw the woman he loves killed in front of him. And now Reid has to deal with another crazed female. Hopefully, the writers will finally give him a healthy and loving relationship like the one they did for Morgan (Shemar Moore).

Episode 11 of "Criminal Minds" season 11 is set to air on January 13.
