The sets of "Downton Abbey" had a special visitor on March 12. The Duchess of Cambridge, popularly known by her maiden name Kate Middleton, visited the sets of "Downton Abbey" which is currently filming its indoor scenes at Ealing Studios in London. The Duchess was so fascinated by the filming that she stayed half an hour more than she was scheduled to, spending a good two hours on set, reports The Telegraph. Kate had admitted that she was a fan of the British period drama while on a US trip. There is no better wish for a "Downton Abbey" fan than to get a rare glimpse of life downstairs.

A heavily pregnant Duchess spent ample time in the Kitchen with actress Lesley Nicol (Mrs. Patmore) and Sophie McShera (Daisy). Nicol admitted that she doesn't know a thing about cooking and that most dishes shown on the series are actually inedible. A beaming Duchess not only saw filming and talked to the actors, she also saw work for the show behind-the-scenes, including costume and makeup. She was quite surprised when executive producer Chris Croucher said the cast aims to film just four minutes of screen time a day.

In other news, spoilers for season six were dropped by actor Hugh Bonneville, who essays the role of the Earl of Grantham, confirming a Christmas special being the ninth episode, reports Vanity Fair. Season six picks up six months after the events of season five in 1925. Lady Rose has moved to America with husband Atticus while beloved Tom Branson is in Boston. However, this doesn't mean we won't be seeing the characters, who will drop by intermittently.

Bonneville told DigitalSpy and other press that, "Some faces that we met towards the end of the fifth season may or may not be coming over the horizon to break or make the hearts of Lady Mary and Lady Edith and people like that."

Fans are hoping Henry Talbot romances Lady Mary while land agent Bertie Pelham woos Edith. However, Edith may not have a romance with him but the fact that she can muster feelings for another man after Gregson's death is a step up. Moreover, Vanity Fair speculates that there's a possibility Gregson may not be dead after all. Additionally, Mrs. Patmore will wrestle with a new enemy - the fridge.

Filming will be completed by summer and the new season airs in autumn or fall of 2015 in the UK.
