Rap fans who are waiting for Marshall Bruce Mathers III to drop a new album would have to wait longer. Mathers, who's also known for his nom de plume Eminem, is reportedly swamped with projects and has no time to work on a new album.

The last time Eminem released a solo record was way back in 2013, when "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" hit record shelves. His follow-up to this award-winning album was the hip-hop, double disc compilation album "Shady XV," which showcased the artists of Shady Records, including himself. The album's title pays homage to the music label's 15 years in the business, as well as its 15th project. "Shady XV" was released in November 2014 and quickly reached number 3 on the Billboard chart. It also received positive reviews and undoubtedly fueled music fans' hankering for more of Eminem.

Rumors abound regarding Eminem's alleged new, and ninth, studio album. According to the rumors, 50 Cent will be collaborating with the "Slim Shady" rapper on this project. The two have worked together before and came out with hits like "Never Enough" and "You Don't Know." There are also reports that this new record will drop sometime in 2016.

While this is undoubtedly exciting for fans, the reports should be taken with a grain of salt. After all, there has been no official announcement from the man himself, and no amount of speculation will change this fact.

There are also several reasons why hip-hop fans shouldn't be holding their breath when it comes to the mystery album's alleged release. One big hurdle is the rapper's busy schedule. Eminem might not have been dropping new records recently, but his presence is very much felt in the touring circuit. The 43-year-old songwriter recently headlined Lollapalooza 2016 in Brazil. He also performed in Buenos Aires and Santiago.

The groundbreaking record producer is also busy with his work with AQUAhydrate and with the "Shady Wars" mobile app game. He's also reportedly busy with upcoming TV series "Motor City."
