FOX's groundbreaking drama series revolving around a hip hop empire is set to return for an action-packed season two. While season one broke all records and made Cookie a household name, season two promises much more of the kind of "Empire" drama and action which fans love.

Christian Today reports that Naomi Campbell's character Camilla Marks will return for the sophomore installment of the musical drama. Series creator Lee Daniels has confirmed this at the Met Gala, making fans across the world very happy. Campbell plays the role of Hakeem's former lover.

Meanwhile, an interview with actor Jussie Smollett cited by International Business Times makes it clear that his character Jamal is set to grow in season two. Fans of the series are aware Jamal was named as the CEO of Empire Records towards the end of the first season. The actor has stated that his character is growing and has come a long way since the first episode.

Jamal has prefered to stay away from the spotlight since he does not want to turn into some other person. In the first episode of season two, fans will see the new CEO of Empire Records gradually turning into the kind of person he does not want to become.

Terrence Howard's character, Lucious Lyon, will also be back in the next season. Concerns over whether Jamal will return the Lyon patriarch leadership of his organization to his father will be addressed in the upcoming episodes. But before that, Jamal will have to fight his mother Cookie, brothers Andre and Hakeem, as well as his father's girlfriend Anika who will attempt to overrun his leadership.

WetPaint cites speculations that indicate Raven-Symone's character Olivia will be back on the series. Additionally, Rhonda's killing of Vernon will have repercussions. Meanwhile, rumors indicate that Oprah and Common may have roles in "Empire".

A release date hasn't been announced by FOX as the show is still in the early stages of development. Season two is likely to have 12 episodes.
