Fans can barely wait for "Empire" season 3, especially after that shocking season 2 finale. It has recently been revealed that the third season's premiere episode will be titled "Light in Darkness."

The title makes sense considering executive producer Ilene Chaiken's description of the upcoming season. "What we're setting up is a battle of dark vs. light. Who are the Lyons and how will they continue to define themselves going forward? Can they ever change? Is Lucious the dark lord, pulling them all in the other direction? And really, where does Tariq fit in with all of this? I would venture that if Tariq really is Lucious' half-brother, there probably isn't a good one and a bad one," Chaiken told TVLine.

Season 2 saw Lucious (Terrence Howard) marrying Anika (Grace Gealey) and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) being absolutely done with him. However, since Cookie and Lucious have a business to run and sons to raise, she won't be completely out of the picture just yet.

There's also the possibility of Cookie getting a new love interest once season 3 rolls around. Entertainment Weekly reports that French Montana will be appearing in the first episode of the third season, playing the role of Vaughn, a force in the music industry and a member of Lucious' group.

According to reports, season 3 will also see more of Lucious' past come to light. Teenaged versions of Lucious and Cookie will be seen in the new season and it is widely believed that their love story will be told as well.

Season 2 also gave light to the revelation that Lucious' mother is not deceased after all and was only in a nursing home. His relationship with his mother is clearly strained, which explains his actions and behavior. However, will fans see more of Lucious' soft side when the series returns?
