When actor Scott Eastwood was announced as the newest cast member to join the gang of "Fast & Furious," talks about him replacing the late actor Paul Walker surfaced. When actress Michelle Rodriguez was asked about it, she said, "I don't know about that. Nobody will ever, as long as I live, fit that role. Understand that?"

That statement from the viral interview by TMZ made fans wonder if that meant Rodriguez does not want Eastwood. However, moments after making it clear that Walker is irreplaceable she said, "I'm happy he's on board," adding "He's a cool actor."

Walker died in a car accident while filming for "Fast & Furious 7" was in progress. The actor has already filmed most of his scenes at the time of his death, and with the aid of technology and his brothers, the story involved his character until the end with major changes made in the script. Instead of killing his character off, however, Brian O'Conner was portrayed to have chosen to live a life away from the chase to concentrate on his growing family.

Unconfirmed reports say that Eastwood will join as one of Mr. Nobody's agents who also happens to be the long-lost brother of Brian. He is said to eventually fill Brian's spot as Dom's right hand as the movie progresses. Dom is portrayed by actor Vin Diesel who shared top billing with Walker in previous installments.

Eastwood has expressed joy over his involvement in the upcoming movie on Instagram. In his post, he said that the movie series is more than just a franchise as it is a legacy. Eastwood revealed actor Kurt Russell was his childhood hero and he looks forward to working and learning from him. He also shared that Walker was a close a friend whom he spent time surfing and traveling with. He acknowledged that their friendship is such that Walker was an older brother to him.

He ended his post with: "Gary Gray and Neal Moritz – I can't wait to get started and dive in. Vin – thank you for the suppor and the insight. Paul – I am going to make you proud."
"Fast & Furious 8" is scheduled to premiere in April 2017.
