Prequels can either make or break the original and fans will either love them or hate them. If viewers of "The Walking Dead" are still undecided about its prequel series, "Fear the Walking Dead," they can see what the show has under its sleeves in the new video clips released by AMC.

AMC just posted on their official YouTube account the first three minutes of "Fear the Walking Dead's" pilot episode. In it, Nick Clark (Frank Dillane) wakes up in what seems like an abandoned church. He senses something is off and he goes searching for his friend, seeing a lot of dead bodies along the way. When he sees her, he quickly discovers the first strain of the zombie apocalypse.

Since AMC is all set to premiere their latest zombie television series this Sunday, the network also posted another clip that provided more insight about the characters that viewers will get to know.

Executive Producer, Gale Anne Hurd, talks about how a "normal" family is the center of all the stresses and conflicts the show is going to explore during the start of the zombie apocalypse. Then the cast, which includes, Kim Dickens (Madison), Frank Dillane (Nick), Alycia Debnam-Carey (Alicia), Cliff Curtis (Travis), Elizabeth Rodriguez (Liza), and Lorenzo James (Chris) talk about their characters and the core family featured in "Fear the Walking Dead."

The six focus on how normal the characters are. Curtis even mentions that his character is no superhero.

Dave Erickson, also an executive producer, then discusses the need to bond the core family with a separate family. He talks about the Salazars and shares how they were forced to join forces with the Clarks-Manawas. Rubén Blades and Mercedes Mason also reveal a few details about the Salazars (Daniel and Ofelia), whom they play in the series.

Erickson wraps up the video by explaining how viewers are going to relate to each character and each family as they live in a world that is bound to experience horror and fear. He says everyone will feel how it is to have their lives changed because of the turn of events.

"Fear the Walking Dead" pilots this Aug. 23.
