After it was rumored that Square Enix's "Final Fantasy Remake 7" will arrive before the current year ends, the latest in the rumor mill is that the highly anticipated game may not be released earlier than 2017.

It has been learned that some Reddit users earlier received an email from Amazon informing them of the arrival of the game, which was said to be December 2016. However, they were eventually informed that the game will arrive in December 2017 instead.

While there is no denying that the change in the date of the arrival of "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" has saddened some eager gamers, many were not surprised as the December 2016 release date was too good to be true.

Despite Amazon informing Reddit users of the December 2016 date, it is a known fact that the online store usually uses December as a placeholder month, at least until Square Enix specifies an official release date. With Amazon changing the arrival date of "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" from December 2016 to December 2017, it is now assumed that it will remain as such until Square Enix reveals the final release date for the game.

Meanwhile, Bitbag opines that releasing "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" in December 2017 will be ideal as it will coincide with the 30th anniversary of the release of the first "Final Fantasy" game on the first ever PlayStation. For the online publication, the arrival of the game in December of next year will make it one of the best Christmas gifts for gamers, too. 

While it seems that gamers will have to wait for a little more than a year before "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" shows up in store shelves, fans are excited about the changes in the rebooted game. Apart from the upgraded costumes of the characters, one thing that fans are looking forward to is the change in the remake's battle system. Real-time combat will replace the turn-based system in the original title.
