'Final Fantasy VII' remake news: Game's production steadily progressing

(Final Fantasy 7 Official)"Final Fantasy VII" is currently in development and has not been scrapped as some rumors suggest.

Although the reboot of  "Final Fantasy VII" was announced at last year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), news about it has been scarce. Without much information released about the game's reboot, many fans have expressed their worry that it might have been already scrapped out. However, it has been learned that the silence of Square Enix on the reboot of "Final Fantasy VII" should not be in any way equated to the notion that it has already been shelved.

In a recent interview with "Final Fantasy VII" reboot director Tetsuya Nomura, it has been revealed that the game is pushing through and that the production is making progress steadily.

"I know I haven't given any information in a while, but please rest assured that work is moving forward steadily. We are currently getting specifics ready for the next information release, and just like we've done with KH2.8 this time, we plan to bring a whole lot out in one go instead of dribs and drabs, so please look forward to it. I am looking forward to the reveals myself," said Nomura in an interview last month.

In the same interview, Nomura encouraged "Final Fantasy" fans to keep their excitement over "Final Fantasy VII" reboot. Fans may even get lucky and get some pleasant bits and pieces of information on the "Final Fantasy VII" reboot at the "Kingdom Hearts" concert next month and at the Dissidia "Final Fantasy" tournament.

"I plan to start bringing more to light little by little, so I thank you in advance for your continued support," added Nomura.

Meanwhile, in another news, those expecting that the upcoming game "Final Fantasy XV" will be playable on Nintendo NX may be up to a major disappointment after it has been learned that the game won't be compatible with the said console. According to reports, game director Hajime Tabata confirmed this piece of information with the Portuguese online publication Game Reactor.

"Final Fantasy XV" is slated for an initial release on Sept. 30 and will be playable on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
