'Five Nights at Freddy's 4' updates: gamers to get new content Oct. 31; game designer reveals new challenges, revamped mini-game

Game developer Scott Cawthon might be done with "Five Nights at Freddy's" for the meantime but fans still have something to look forward to as "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" will be getting a whole new bag of treats this Halloween.

Cawthon made the announcement a while back via the game's Steam Community page and enumerated what fans will get when the "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" Halloween Update comes out on Oct. 31.

According to the 44-year-old game designer, the update will boost the game to 1.1 and will include new rewards for those who have survived Night 6, like a challenge menu and a cheat menu. Those playing the challenge modes will also encounter a familiar mini-game with an insane, new twist.

Unfortunately for those who are still waiting for the answer to one of the game's biggest mysteries, the contents of the box will not be revealed in the Halloween Content Update, so that particular mystery will remain as it is. Although Cawthon had said that since the pieces of the puzzle have eluded the community, it might be better if the box, and its contents, is forgotten.

But Cawthon is encouraging fans to look for the Easter eggs in "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" and hinted that they are quite significant in helping the player piece the game's story together.

A new game was initially planned to be released alongside the "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" Halloween Update. But the game, which was later revealed to be "Five Nights at Freddy's World," will definitely not be ready by the end of the month. However, "Freddy's" creator is hoping he can at least finish a sneak peek of the new RPG game by then to give fans a taste of what's to come.

The idea of a new "Five Nights at Freddy's" game that's vastly different from the previous ones have certainly polarized the community. But to know how it would really fare when stacked up against the others, gamers will have to wait until 2016 when Cawthon finally releases it.
