'Five Nights at Freddy's 4' updates: Halloween updates finally arrive; Scott Cawthon surprises fans with the trailer of 'Five Nights at Freddy's World'

Halloween was certainly satisfying to "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" fans as they finally received the long awaited and much-hyped Halloween content for the game. And as an added surprise, a gameplay trailer for the upcoming "Five Nights at Freddy's World" was also revealed.

As promised by game creator Scott Cawthon, the "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" Halloween content was released on Halloween and is available now on Steam. Fans who downloaded the patch found that they now have the option to either launch the game in the normal mode or to try the Halloween edition.

With the Halloween update, fans who have survived the game's sixth night are rewarded with new challenges, access to classic characters and even a new mini-game, the Fun with Plushtrap, but with a whole new twist. Those with a soft spot for characters like Mangle, the Puppet and Balloon Boy would undoubtedly find that the update is one big treat for them.

Cawthon's other Halloween surprise was an unexpected but welcome treat as fans saw firsthand what the designer had in mind for his newest game.

The designer had previously teased that "Five Nights at Freddy's World" was going in a different direction. The opening sequence of the trailer emphasized that as well, as it started with the ominous looking message "they've stalked you, they've scared you, they've haunted you." It ended with the lighthearted "but now they're cute" followed with cute renditions of the characters popping up.

The game is an RPG and the gameplay footage shows that players will have four characters of their choice from Cawthon's universe in a team and engaging in turn-based combat. Although, it also seems that some attacks can overlap each other. And as it's traditionally been with the Freddy games, it also pays homage to its predecessor.

The bright colors and cute graphics of "Five Nights at Freddy's World" more than proves that this game has shed the creepy atmosphere and suffocating feeling of the earlier games.

"Five Nights at Freddy's World" is expected to be released in 2016.
